I pride myself on being more than just someone to listen but someone to actively help you look at things in a different way.
The focus of my work is individual therapy with adults, Some of the issues I address include anxiety, grief, depression, mood regulation, trauma, parenting as well as life transitions, LGBTQ, aging and health. I have a trauma-informed ‘lens’ with a wellness perspective.
My style is eclectic, conversational and collaborative, utilizing a variety of approaches to meet the needs of those I work with, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I find Mindfulness as essential to integrate throughout the process to better attune and calm the body. My practice often includes exploring one’s family of origin more deeply, providing insight into early family dynamics. Coping strategies once effective and even necessary in youth may no longer be needed and in fact, can get in the way of meaningful relationships and an overall sense of well-being in the present day.
